As a sisterhood dedicated to building confidence, character, and self-esteem, we provide the guidance, support, and resources young ladies need to overcome challenges, make responsible choices, reach their fullest potential, and become positive, impactful leaders in their communities.
Our Vision
Our vision is to empower preteen and teen girls to realize their full potential, develop self-worth, and become influential leaders who positively impact their communities and the world around them. Mentee's Creed: I am responsible for my choices, and I always try to do what is right, even when it’s hard. I believe in myself, I never give up, and I know I can do great things.

Our History
Founded in January 2022, Young Girls On the Move was established to provide mentorship, guidance, and a strong support system for young ladies transitioning from elementary school into middle school. The organization was created in response to the unique challenges sixth-grade students face as they adjust to a new academic and social environment. Recognizing that this transition can be overwhelming, the program was designed to provide sixth graders with consistent encouragement, accountability, and positive mentorship to help them successfully navigate middle school.
Â
As the program developed, it became clear that eighth-grade students also desired and benefited from having a dedicated mentoring and support group of their own. Rather than limiting the program to incoming sixth graders, the decision was made to expand Young Girls On the Move into a unified mentoring organization that would serve students throughout their middle school journey. During its first year, the program served sixth and eighth-grade students, each with age-appropriate mentoring and support. The following year, seventh grade was added, allowing the organization to provide continuous mentorship and leadership development for all middle school grade levels.
Â
Today, Young Girls On the Move serves students in grades 6–8 by promoting leadership, confidence, accountability, responsibility, academic excellence, and personal growth. The program helps sixth graders adjust to the expectations of middle school, supports seventh graders as they continue developing character and leadership skills, and prepares eighth graders for the transition to high school by encouraging enrollment in advanced coursework, exploring future opportunities, and making informed academic decisions.
Â
Through mentorship, meaningful relationships, and a commitment to empowering young women, Young Girls On the Move equips students with the tools, confidence, and support they need to succeed academically, socially, and personally.
